About the Journal
The African Journal of Peace Education (AfriJPE) is a peer-reviewed and indexed scholarly journal published quarterly in January, April, September, and December. AfriJPE is a multidisciplinary, intercultural and transdisciplinary publication that bridges academic theory and research with practical educational application in peace education. The Journal focuses on promoting original research and advancing knowledge in peace education theory, curriculum development, and pedagogical practices for creating non-violent and just African societies.

Scope
The African Journal of Peace Education understands peace education as a transformative educational approach that aims to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values necessary to resolve conflicts peacefully, create conditions for peace at all levels (personal, interpersonal, societal, and global), and foster a culture of peace by teaching non-violence, human rights, empathy, and social justice, ultimately empowering individuals to prevent and resolve conflicts constructively and work towards a more just and sustainable future.
The African Journal of Peace Education publishes original articles which promote discussions on theories, research and practices in peace education in varied educational and cultural settings in Africa. The editors welcome well-written articles that advance knowledge and assist the development of practice in peace education, as well as review essays and proposals for thematically based issues such as:
